![]() Is it supposed to indicate that s/he is honest? That he will never lie to make a point? Or even that he is pleasant? I'm not trying to paint this guy as some sort of child, or some sort of wise old man. But I've never really been able to figure out what having "straight" answers is supposed to indicate about a person, or the quality of a person's answers. I generally like the phrase "straight" answer. For example, when asked whether a particular is better than another, Socrates would say "no," if the answer is negative, or "yes," if the answer is positive, which is a "straight" answer. ![]() Images: Q: Why is it called a "straight" answer?
